How Much Does Gamban Cost? 2026 Pricing, Free Trial & Cheaper Alternatives

As of November 2026, Gamban costs £4.99 a month or £29.99 a year on gamban.com, after a 7-day free trial. On the US App Store the same plans are $6.99 a month or $41.99 a year. One account covers up to 15 devices across iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows. There is no lifetime or one-time purchase. It is still free in Wales, and a few US programs give out free licences. Free UK licences through TalkBanStop ended on 31 March 2026, so people in England and Scotland now pay.

Gamban pricing at a glance (November 2026)

Prices are listed in GBP on gamban.com, and your checkout may show your local currency, so check the figure before you pay. Paying monthly for a year comes to £59.88 ($83.88). On the annual plan, three years comes to about £90 ($126) and five years to about £150 ($210). That can be money well spent, but the free layers below are worth setting up first.

What the free trial includes

The 7-day trial is the full product. Gamban says there are no differences between paid, trial and promotional accounts, and you can install it on up to 15 devices. You won't be billed until the trial period ends.

The one thing to plan for: when the trial ends without payment details on your account, Gamban stops blocking and gambling sites and apps can be reached again on your devices. Before you start the trial, decide what happens on day eight: subscribe, switch to a free blocker, or (better) have GamStop and bank blocks already in place underneath so nothing depends on a single tool.

Where Gamban is still free, and what changed in 2026

For five years, UK users could get Gamban free through TalkBanStop, a partnership between GamCare, Gamban, and GamStop that handed out free licences via the National Gambling Helpline. Gamban says over 100,000 were given out. That scheme ended on 31 March 2026 after its funder, GambleAware, closed, and Gamban moved to a paid subscription in England and Scotland. If you already have a free licence, blocking lasts until the end of the period you chose; after that you need a subscription to keep it. Some older pages, including GamStop's support page when we checked in November 2026, still call Gamban free for UK residents.

What's still free, right now:

• Wales residents: Gamban remains free, funded by the Welsh Government. Call the All Wales Gambling Helpline on 0808 281 9265, free and open 24/7. The online link in Gamban's announcement showed an inactive code when we tried it in November 2026, so start with the phone.
• Michigan residents: the Michigan Gaming Control Board has offered free licences of one to five years. It started with 100 and added 100 more in May 2026, so check whether any are left.
• Kansas residents: Gamban says the state's 24/7 gambling helpline can give you a code for one free year. We couldn't confirm that on a Kansas state page, so ask when you call 1-800-522-4700.
• Other places: Gamban also names Ohio, Louisiana and Norway. When we checked in November 2026, the Louisiana sign-up code was inactive and Time Out Ohio's page offered BetBlocker instead, so ask the local helpline. Gamban's notice on the UK change doesn't mention Northern Ireland, so ask the National Gambling Helpline there.
• GamStop: the UK's national self-exclusion register costs nothing, and one registration blocks every online operator licensed in Great Britain for 6 months, 1 year, or 5 years. See Gamban vs GamStop for how the two differ.

• GamCare's National Gambling Helpline: 0808 8020 133 — free, confidential, 24/7, phone and live chat.

What you get for the money — and what you don't

What you get: blocking of over 190,000 websites and 5,000 apps by Gamban's own count (checked November 2026), coverage across up to 15 devices and four platforms, friction against impulsive uninstalls, and a track record going back to 2015. My Progress counts days free from gambling, time saved and estimated money saved, and Gamban runs a Discord server. It blocks more than casinos and betting: trading and crypto platforms are blocked too, and you can't change the categories, so Gamban suggests withdrawing any money held there before you install.

What you don't get: crisis tools for the moment an urge hits, a debt plan, or a daily recovery program. We found none of these on gamban.com in November 2026. That's fine if you already have a recovery plan, and a real gap if the app is your entire plan. And because it's subscription-only, your protection lasts only as long as your billing. Cheaper alternatives (honest ones)

BetBlocker — free, forever

BetBlocker is run by a US non-profit (a 501(c)(3) registered in Delaware) and is free, with no trial clock and no subscription. It supports Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS and Fire OS, and says it blocks over 1.3 million sites (its own figure, checked November 2026). The interface is more dated. If cost is what has held you back, you can install it today.

NoGambling.app — one-time purchase, different layer

Full disclosure: this is our app, and it's a different tool: a recovery app, not a network-level blocker. "Quit Gambling - Stop Betting" (iOS 15.1+, 4.9★ on the App Store) does different work: a real-time streak tracker, a panic button with 4-4-4 breathing for urge spikes, one switch that blocks betting apps (iOS 16 or later) and popular gambling sites in your country in Safari, an estimate of the money you haven't gambled, a debt snowball plan, a daily promise with mood tracking, milestones, and a peer community. You can start without an email; posting in the community needs one.

The pricing model is the structural difference: it's free to try, then Pro Monthly or Pro Yearly, or a one-time Lifetime Deal. Pay once and it's yours; nothing renews, nothing lapses. Over five years, Gamban comes to about £150 ($210) in subscription payments, against one payment for the lifetime option (the App Store shows the current price). They're different layers, so you may want both kinds of tool: a free blocker (BetBlocker) plus a lifetime recovery app costs less over time than Gamban alone.

So is Gamban worth the price?

If deep, cross-platform site blocking is the layer you're missing — especially if you gamble on a desktop — yes, £29.99/year is cheap insurance, and we say that as a competitor. Just don't let it be your only layer. The setup we'd actually recommend: GamStop first if you're in the UK (free, can't lapse), a device blocker second (Gamban or BetBlocker), and a recovery system for the daily work — that's the part of how to stop gambling no blocker can do for you.
